HOJICHA HOT CHOCOLATE

A wonderfully smooth hot chocolate enhanced by the toasted notes of hojicha. This comforting drink combines the creaminess of hot chocolate with the subtlety of roasted Japanese tea. It’s easy to prepare and offers a refined alternative to the classics.

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp hojicha powder
  • 20 g chocolate (milk or dark)
  • 200 ml milk (cow’s or plant-based drink)
  • 50 ml water at 95°C

Preparation

  1. Heat the water to 95°C.
  2. In a small cup, mix the hojicha and hot water. Whisk until smooth.
  3. In a saucepan, heat the milk with the chocolate, stirring until fully melted.
  4. Add the hojicha mixture and whisk to combine.
  5. Pour into a cup, froth lightly if desired, and enjoy immediately.
